FoxRun By The River Retirement Residence Art Show

FoxRun By The River Retirement Residence welcomed the members of the Three Horse Art Show on the Victoria Day long week-end by hosting an Art Show and Sale. This Gananoque location on the 1000 Islands Parkway was a great setting for artists Karen Bockus, Kathrine Christensen, Leo Carl, Sheila Ballantyne and George Hurst to display a number of art pieces.

The main lobby of the Retirement Residence was set up as a display area. Using the backdrop of the fountain and indoor ponds the art was on view for all the residents, their families and public visitors alike. Leo Carl even got an opportunity to draw a portrait of resident Leroy! This was a hit as everyone quickly pointed it out to anyone within reach. The display area was a gathering spot as being near the main dining room entrance it was frequented by many as an area for chat. We heard many tales of not only art experiences but some bits of their life living in the 1000 Islands area.

FoxRun had created a very large banner and placing in the front the residence it attracted some parkway travellers to not only come and view the display but also to take the opportunity to take a closer look at this recently built facility. A very nice spot to hold an art show and so many friendly faces to chat with.

The Three Horse Studio artists appreciate the opportunity to show our art and thank Heather Howard of FoxRun for inviting us and for making this possible.
