Artist Statement In my paintings I look to take subject matter that we see on a daily basis and attempt to depict it in a way in which we are not used to. This further displays the beauty of the world in which we live. Recently I have been interested in nature and have been exploring the effects of cropping paired with an intense colour palette. |

About The Artist
Born in Brockville Ontario and now reside just outside the city near Graham Lake. I began my interest in art when I was 11. I began by drawing portraits with graphite and charcoal. In high school I began to spread my interest to paint, where I enjoyed using oils and acrylics. Here I progressed to other subject matter then portraits, incorporating nature into my work. I am currently In my 4th and final year of completing an honours double major in visual arts and history at the university of western Ontario in London Ontario. I will be completing my masters in Education with a focus on the arts and intend to teach art in the high school or post secondary setting. At 21 years old and after studying and learning for many years, I am just beginning my career as a practicing artist. I currently work in oils and acrylics and hope to develop toward eventually owning my own studio.
