Amber Brown - Painter
Artist Statement
In my paintings I look to take subject matter that we see on a daily basis and attempt to depict it in a way in which we are not used to. This further displays the beauty of the world in which we live. Recently I have been interested in nature and have been exploring the effects of cropping paired with an intense colour palette.

About The Artist
Born in Brockville Ontario and now reside just outside the city near Graham Lake. I began my interest in art when I was 11. I began by drawing portraits with graphite and charcoal. In high school I began to spread my interest to paint, where I enjoyed using oils and acrylics. Here I progressed to other subject matter then portraits, incorporating nature into my work. I am currently In my 4th and final year of completing an honours double major in visual arts and history at the university of western Ontario in London Ontario. I will be completing my masters in Education with a focus on the arts and intend to teach art in the high school or post secondary setting. At 21 years old and after studying and learning for many years, I am just beginning my career as a practicing artist. I currently work in oils and acrylics and hope to develop toward eventually owning my own studio.
